Ministry of Justice Evaluation: Implementing restorative justice schemes (Crime Reduction Programme) The first year report

'Implementing restorative justice schemes: The first year report  of the Home Office funded pilot studies of the 3 RJ projects.

The report focuses on the processes of development and setting up of the three restorative justice schemes funded by the Home Office under its Crime Reduction Programme from mid-2001:

CONNECT, the Justice Research Consortium and REMEDI. It describes in detail the aims and content of the schemes and their early efforts to become established. The process of setting up the schemes has taken more time than expected and some schemes did not reach what they  would see as their normal, routine working until summer 2002. This report provides a record of the important initiation and  mplementation stages of this project. Subsequent reports will focus on the process of restorative justice, the subsequent development of the schemes and the outputs and outcomes of restorative justice, with the evaluation finishing at the end of 2006.
