Community based organisations and police partners - Lizzie Nelson, RJC Director, speech to ACPO/RJC Joint Conference
Lizzie Nelson, RJC Director, addressing the ACPO/RJC Conference "Restorative Justice, Policing and the Big Society" spoke of how restorative policing has taken off, and how restorative justice embodies the Big Society vision.
She said "The evidence is there that RJ delivers 85% satisfaction rates for victims. It reduces re-offending, and leads to a more efficient use of resources at all stages in the criminal justice system. ACPO and the Restorative Justice Council, on behalf of all our members, will be with the Government all the way in finding, and taking, those radical steps that are needed to deliver the vision for a criminal justice system with restoration to the victims of crime truly at it’s heart."
