RJC Members - Who do you want to nominate to the Board of Trustees to build and take the RJC forward?
The Restorative Justice Council provides quality assurance and the national voice for restorative practice.
As a registered charity we hold an Annual General Meeting each year to celebrate achievements, to report on our activities and finances, and for members to elect the Board of Trustees. Our Annual General Meting will take place this year on 13th September 2011. All members are welcome to attend - to book your place please email admin@restorativejustice.org.uk
At the September 2011 AGM, we are looking for two RJC members to join the RJC Board of Trustees - the governing body for the Restorative Justice Council.
We have made significant progress over the last two years - and our Trustees are critical to our future role and impact, helping us build our work promoting, developing and assuring quality for the whole field of restorative practice.
Who do you want on the Board, to help us take the RJC forward, building on what we've already achieved together?
If you are a member of the RJC we would encourage you to consider standing for election - or nominating another RJC member who you believe has the skills we needed to take the Restorative Justice Council forward.
Board members serve a term of three years, after which they can stand down and seek re-election, serving a maximum of three terms (9 years) in total. All Board members agree to abide by the RJC Trustee Code of Conduct.
The RJC Board meets four times a year in central London, and communicates between Board meetings by email and conference call.
We also look for Trustees who are able to support the work of RJC staff team between meetings - for example with planning and speaking at events; in our media and policy work; business and strategic planning; development of RJC publications; advising the staff team; helping with recruitment and fundraising etc - depending on the skills, availability and expertise of the individual Board member.
If you are interested in standing for election to the Board of Trustees - or in nominating another RJC member to stand - please read the RJC Trustee Code of Conduct and the nomination form, by following the further reading links below.
If you would like further information or would like to speak to the Chair of the RJC Board, Lawrence Kershen QC, please call the RJC office on 020 7831 5700.
The deadline for nominations is 15th July 2011
A list of our existing Board of Trustees, including a short summary of their background and expertise, is available here.
