New DVD resource from the Restorative Justice Council
This five minute film explains why quality in restorative practice matters and provides an introduction to the RJC Practitioner Register.
With contributions from:
· Crispin Blunt MP, Under-Secretary of State for Justice
· Javed Khan, Chief Executive, Victim Support
· Graham Robb, Youth Justice Board
· Ray and Vi Donovan, parents of Chris Donovan
· Heather Skelton, RJC Accredited Practitioner (Project Salus in Kent schools)
· Wendy Freshman, Chief Executive, The Mediation Service, and
· Sian West, former Prison Governor
The film highlights how quality practice leads to positive outcomes; why quality practice matters; and what practitioner registration means: for the public – victims of crime in particular; for commissioners and managers, and for restorative practitioners themselves, across a wide range of agencies.
The DVD is available free from the RJC – to request your copy please email enquiries@restorativejustice.org.uk.
The film can be used by:
· Restorative services – to show the public what quality restorative practice means for them
· Practitioners – to explain practitioner registration to service users, managers or colleagues
· Commissioners/managers – to show staff why practitioner registration matters to your agency
